Existing-Wastewater System Ownership and Management
The City of Cashmere (City) is located in Chelan County, approximately 12 miles northwest of Wenatchee. The City owns and operates a wastewater collection and treatment system located just outside the city limits. Wastewater collection, treatment and disposal are provided through a conventional gravity collection system and a treatment.
Overview of Existing System
The city limits encompass approximately 0.98 square miles or 625 acres, while the Urban Growth Area (UGA) consists of 1.9 square miles or 1,158 acres. The City is primarily a residential community with a large portion of the population commuting to nearby cities for employment. The City provides service to approximately 1,039 customer connections within the City’s wastewater service area. The City’s wastewater system is comprised of 1 treatment plant, 4 pump stations and approximately 20 miles of gravity collection and force main pipes.
